What small tattoo should I get representing new beginnings behind my ear?

I want a new tattoo behind my ear. I want something as in "turning over a new leaf" or a new beginning. Of course something small so I can’t do too much with it but I need ideas. How could I represent starting over almost like a rebirth? I am open to any and all ideas.

I would suggest a small Chinese symbol. I have the Chinese symbol for "courage" on my ankle-because I used to be pretty shy, and I’ve come out of my shell. My tattoo is less than a square inch and just black (nice and simple) I also like it because it is a bit of a conversation starter, since people don’t know what it means they usually ask what it means.
You could go for "rebirth"; or find some synonyms…

If you want a word, you can say:
"dawn"
"genesis"
"Renaissance" (literally this means rebirth)
or any of these in another language, like italian
