What makes the difference when selecting tattoo machine coils?

I have a tattoo machine that heats up and starts to bog down after 30 to 45 minutes of continuous use. I feel that the issue is with the tattoo machine’s coils. What makes a tattoo coil better than another? The amount of coils, the strength of the capacitor inside it?

Word of advise.. dont buy cheap equipment..handwound coils using copper wires and iron cores are the ticket… Choosing the capacitor is depended on what type of machine your running. (liner/shader). also your machine might not even be set up correctly.. Dont go at it alone.. Do it oldschool and apprentice at a shop.
alot, ask your mentor
