What is the best tattoo aftercare method in this situation?
Hello,
Many tattoo artists say to wait a few days or even up to a week or two weeks before exercising or working out after getting a new tattoo. Does sex count as an exercises or workout that should be avoided during this period also?
Thanks
By the way, I am not talking about hard sweaty sex. I mean like normal sex at regular paste.

I’ve been tattooing for over 12 years and have never heard anyone say you cant work out after getting a tattoo, unless the workout actually affects the tattooed area (like rubbing against it). Sweating does not cause the ink to come out of your pores or everyone that lives in a hot climate would have messed up tattoos from sweating, and that is not the case. Sex is fine if it doesn’t affect the tattoo area, and I’d say do it as much as possible, lol. So, exercise away, and have all the sex you want.
depending where it is…what position…and how hard you’re having sex…if it’s not at a part that gets worked out and i don’t even think it matters that much…i did the day i got mine
as long as your keeping the area clear from fluids, friction, I would say you’re good to go. Its not in the aftercare instructions but I’m sure if I asked he’d get a kick out of it.
Stupid Answers. Did these people even ever get a tattoo evr done. The reason you’ve been told not to exercise is because if you start sweating the skin pores open up and the ink in the pores starts flowing out with the sweat. Whatever you do.. avoid perspiring and alcohol for at least 3 days after you’ve got the tattoo.
