Does getting a SMALL tattoo on the front of your hip bone hurt?

Yes. Generally any tattoo will hurt but places closer to the bone or nerve endings will hurt. A general rule of thumb that for the most part works is wherever you are slightly ticklish will be more painful than the spots you’re not as your nerves are more sensitive there. Hope that helps!

It depends on your pain tolerance- some people it don’t really feel a thing, some people it hurts like HELL! There is really no way to gage the type of pain you’ll feel for a tattoo if you haven’t had one before, but do you have any piercings? If they didn’t hurt that bad, chances are that a tat won’t be too bad either. How are you with needles? If you can’t stand the thought of them, well, getting a tat is probably going to be impossible. If you can deal with these types of pain, you should be ok with the tat, especially if it’s small. Just make sure that the artist is very experience and let him or her know that you’re a bit concerned about the pain.
I have one on my right shoulder blade- about the size of a fist, and I was MORTIFIED about the pain before I got it. When the guy started doing it, it hurt mainly because I’ve never felt anything like that before and because, well, it hurts. But after awhile, I was kind of numb and was almost in a "trace" like state, which apparently happens to many people. The pain was barely noticeable at that point.
If you go through with it, just make sure you care for it the way they tell you and ask them if they recommend anything that you can take for the pain.

Honestly, yes at FIRST it will hurt but after a while it goes numb and just feels…itchy. I have a HUGE one that took forever but didnt hurt nearly as bad as I thought it would.

thats a myth! tattooo’s hurt NOTHING!
i just got one on my hip. it doesn’t hurt, but the next couple of days after you get it, put the lotion on and cover it back up. i am having problems with interference between my clothing and tattoo, and that hurts a little when it is rubbed.

All tattoos hurt… some more than others. Each person takes it different. It can also depend on the hand of the artist, some have heavy hands which make it hurt more. Some people take pain better. Too many variables to determine the amount of pain. The point is that the pain will go away and you will have a tattoo forever. So don’t worry about it.
It’s a tattoo, it’s shoving needles into your skin repeatedly.
yes if its on top of a bone it hurts..well in like the hip and ankle it hurts alot!! but get it =D the hurting part wont last =]!!
There really is no difference in pain between a small tattoo and a large one, only on a large one, the pain lasts longer! LOL
It is sort of like a cat scratch on a sunburn!
