tattoo????
I just got a tattoo last friday and they did not give me anything to put on it. now when my friend got one from another place she got some kinda orment stuff. i am looking to find out what i should put on it for the scabbness of it. cause now it is scabbing. i know it is supposed to. i am wanting to know what to use to help it heal better…
the tattoo guy told me not to use neosporn or anything like that. he just told me to put lost of hand sanitizer stuff on it and wash it 3-4 times a day and run lots of cold water and i am doing that. it is really itchy from healing so i need to start the lotion thing just not for sure what kind. he said to start the lotion 3-4 days after…but i don’t remember what kind he said.

Just keep it moist and never use neosporin on color. I have use everything from lotion to Vaseline. I do however, recommend you wash it with tea tree oil.
rub vaseline or neosporin on it
if it is already scabbing then go to a pharmacy and just get lubraderm plain white, no scents or anything added, in the future you want to put bactracin on it for the first 24 hours and then start with the lubraderm three to four times a day! do not use vaseoline or neosporine!! the first two do not know what they are talk in about.
Use A&D ointment. Every place I’ve been Inked has told me to use that, try and keep it moist with that, and it should heal just fine, and remember DON’T ITCH!!
Get a Vitamin E lotion, like Webber brand. If you can’t find that, call the place where you got your tattoo and ask which product is best.
Neosporin is questionable. Some people say yes some say no. I use some tattoo goo, lotion (non scented), diaper ointment. I recommend tattoo goo http://www.tattoogoo.com. Just keep it moist so keep putting lotion on every hours or so. Don’t let it dry up.
I’ve been told different things by different tattoo shops.
One place told me to keep Vaseline on it. Another told me not to at all. (because it keeps the tattoo wet, and it doesn’t heal as fast).
I’ve always gone with a LUBRIDERM® Daily Moisture Lotion – Fragrance Free. That way you skin stays hydrated (but not wet) and there are no dyes or fragrances to irritate your skin. Put it on 2-3 times a day. Try not to rub your tattoo hard (#1 it hurts, #2 it also irritates the skin and can pull any flaking skin off before it’s ready.)
You should be able to find this lotion at almost any store.
Since it’s already scabbing, just use lotion. Ointments are too think at this point and don’t allow your scab to heal properly. An ointment like Aquaphor is good for the first three days–sparringly..then just lotion…a lot of lotion…many times a day. ..Curel is my preference and I’d wash with good old fashioned Dial yellow soap at least twice a day, it’s mild and anti-bacterial
First of all, no matter what, DO NOT pick your scabs, let them fall off naturally.
Unscented fragrance free, aloe free lotion is probably best for you at this point. We have the Target brand in the house here and it works great. We also have A & D and Tattoo Goo. Out of all of them, A & D definitely works best and has allowed me a shorter healing time than Tattoo Goo (I’m not sure why exactly). But since yours had already begun scabbing, stick to the lotion.
It is up to your artist to give you ointment, as receptacles to put the ointment in, have to be purchased by the artist, unless they are supplied by the shop (which I have never heard of happening). I got a great deal on little one ounce souffle cups with lids that my husband keeps at the shop to dispense A & D in, even then he only gives it to regulars or people that get larger tattoos.
I think you might be in for a touch up though, you should have been keeping it moist for almost a week now and I wouldn’t be surprised if some of your ink falls out. But in answer to your question, since the scabbing has already started, lotion several times a day, applied sparingly, is probably your best bet now.
Good Luck
Hand sanitizer? What the hell… I don’t think you should be using that, it has rubbing alcohol in it, that will dry it out and make it more itchy.. Try polysporin or some kind of fragrance/scent free moisturizer…
go to any tattoo shop and ask for TATTOO GOO. its this green stuff in a tube or in a can type thing that you put on there. it has instuctions for you to use. this will help. i have 6 and i used that on everyone of mine. it prevents the colors from fading also.
never use neosporin! it will ruin ur color. use A&D ointment. it works much better than lotions!
A & D ointment
If it’s already scabbing, use unscented lotion like lubraderm, curel, or aveeno. A scab is mostly dry flaking skin… you want to keep it moisturized!! this will help reduce the amount of flaking you have!
DO NOT use neosporine or anything like that!!! yOU NEED THE DIAPER RASH OINTMENT… NOT THE CREAM the ointment! and don’t scrub it… also baby lotion works… plain baby lotion… don’t scratch it!!!
