How do I ask a tattoo apprentice to do my tattoo?

I’ve heard that tattoo apprentices will do your tattoos for cheap/nothing because they need the experience. I’m broke, so I want an apprentice to cover up my small tattoo with a simple one. The only thing is, how do I call and ask for it?! What do I say?

Go into several shops and scope the place out. Usually you can pick the apprentice out. The shop I go to, they are always asking where hes at (and they referr to him as the apprentice). Also, if you have friends who get tattoos, ask them if they know if the shop they go to has an apprentice (however, all the apprentices I know still charge, just not as much as the other artists).
Just say… Hey I was wondering if there was anyone who needed some practice. I don’t have much money so I can’t pay big, but I would love to give someone experience.
