How bad does a tattoo on the back of the wrist hurt?
My little sister (18) is considering a small purple and blue tattoo of intertwining vines on the top of her wrist. She asked my opinion on this, but I have never gotten a tattoo and have no clue.
How bad would that hurt? I don’t want here to do something without knowing, and I know she’s relying me for an answer. Is it really a good idea? Would there be a better place for a tattoo?

It depends on the person, I have a music note on my wrist and it was really uncomfortable, like you’re getting your eyebrows plucked at rapid speed, but she’ll get it over it.
it wont be too bad. the only thing is the closer you get to bone, the more it will hurt. and in some areas where the skin is just naturally tender, like inside of the armpit, across the spike, on the bone of your ankle etc.
tell her to get ‘unemployable’ tattooed on the other wrist
It will hurt, all tattoos hurt. But it is quite tolerable to the average human. Especially if its only a small one. There are a few nerves and bones in this area so it may cause some discomfort.
Generally the more muscle/fat that covers the area to be tattooed the less pain it will cause. Also skin that does not see much sun tends to tickle a bit more than "weathered" skin. The back of the wrist wont be too bad, but switch to the inside of the wrist and your sister will get a surprise!
Check out an article I wrote on tattoos on the link below, your sister might find it very useful!
