Quote tattoos, & tattoo ideas?

I was planning on getting a quote tattoo on my ribs but my boyfriend told me not to because it would look stupid since I already have a word tattoo on my wrists, he thinks that if you have too many word tattoos it looks dumb. Is that true? & I was going to get a picture tattoo but I couldn’t find something that related to what I wanted. I’ve wanted something that would represent freedom, strength, just letting go. This tattoo is suppose to represent recovery. What would be a good idea for a tattoo? Thank you:)

Are you tattooed much?

What’s your views on tattoos?

Offensive tattoos? Is there such a thing?

Religious tattoos?

Are all tattoos somehow religious and/or superstitious?
I have had talks with a couple American Muslims about tattoo as art and it’s uses. It showed they were reviewing their religious beliefs, and attempting to justify rationality in them. They approached me, and in each case, they said, "You have Allah tattooed on you?!?"

"Huh", I would say. You see, on the inside of my left forearm I have a tattoo of the astrological symbol for Virgo. It’s not highly scripted artistically, but has some flare below it. The Virgo symbol might be recognized as – an "M" with a loop off the third stem on the right – and I have some lines below that as part of the art. The Arabic way to write Allah can be recognized as – a "W" written in script-like technique, with a connection on it’s left side, and lines of other symbols above it.

So I turned my arm the other way for the fellow(s), and explained what they thought it was, was something conceptually similar. Just another meme, and more imaginary lang
language symbols.

They then (both) were interested in whether or not a tattoo honoring Allah could really be considered haram, shirk, or anything of the sort. After all, if tattoos exist, tattoos come from Allah.
Turdel… It’s very interesting that even non-theistic (and so called secular) tattoos do have superstitious meaning to them. The recipient ALWAYS ties a special meaning to a tattoo.

Is putting on a bunch of temporary tattoos too messy for Halloween?

Never was into tattoos, so looking like a tattoo fan sounds like one idea for Halloween, if the temporary ones are easy to take off for the next day. Or, does it get into the clothes?

What do you think of tattoos on people with dark complexions?

I am not a fan of tattoos on anybody. But the whole idea of having a tattoo is that it should be visible.Even if a dark ink is used on a dark skin the tattoo is not all that visible.
I agree with all of you.It will be really hard to choose the best answer.

How can I protect my tattoos in a tanning bed?

Most of my tattoos are dark (not colored) and I don’t go to the tanning bed much. Maybe once or twice a week for 10-12 minute sessions, and only in the Spring season. How can I protect my tattoos in a tanning bed? Are there specific lotions or ways to not damage my tattoos? Thanks for any advice.

My 22yr old daughter has colored tattoos. What kind of ink was used to make tattoos years ago?

My 84yr old father got tattoos when he signed up to join the army, for WWII. His tattoos now look like it is greenish in appearance, not black ink. So, I’d like to know if someone can give me an answer!
Even when I was a child, his tattoos always looked green! Is it the ink? Or is it because where it was done?

How would you describe this style of tattoo?

I really like how this person’s tattoo looks. I like how there’s no harsh black lines and that the outlining of the flowers are just darker shades of pink and red and i like how the natural skin color is the negative space in the tattoo. I was thinking about getting a tattoo with flowers like this and a hummingbird and i was wondering if there’s any form of style of tattooing similar to what im describing here, I don’t know much about tattoos but I’m not getting it any time soon because I’m still planning the tattoo out. Thanks for the help!

How to ensure tattoo artist copies design well?

My friend is designing a tattoo for my forearm. But he’s not a tattoo artist so obviously he can’t put it on me himself. How can I make sure that the tattoo artist will get the design right? I don’t suppose there’s a way they could trace it . . .
If the artist can trace it, does my friend need to draw it on a special kind of paper?
