Ok, this might seem such a strange question (well, the second part at least) but I am planning on getting a tattoo in the future and I have no idea how much the tip should be. Also, is it appropriate to hand the cash for the tip directly to the artist them self or should it be given to the person (usually an intern) who rings the total cost up? Advice is greatly appreciated! Much thanks!

I got a tattoo in September 2008, so it has been several months since. However, i have recently discovered acne forming in and around my tattoo. The tattoo is on my left shoulder blade, and it is in a spot where i dont normally get acne. How do i get rid of this acne problem without harming the tattoo itself, and why is this happening?

So basically im planning to get a tattoo on my birthday next week and i want a chest piece. The tattoo will be from shoulder to shoulder like above my breasts but beneath my collar bone. It will be of a quote, no graphic or anything just words…not too detailed i guess. I know it will hurt because its a tattoo & all, but first off Im worried about it looking too "manly" with it being fully across my chest, and im not sure HOW bad it would hurt because most of the chest pieces ive seen are extremely detailed graphics. but yeah…can i get some input pleassse:)

I was just wondering if it was possible to get a tattoo while you’re out cold under an anesthetic like the ones you get at a hospital before surgery or something so you don’t feel anything? Because I know there a lot of people who want tattoos but are so scared of needles (I’m one of them) so would not be able to stand the pain. Is it possible? Sorry if this sounds stupid but I was just wondering.

I just got a full back piece 5 days ago, I have been appling lotion several times a day as the tattoo arist instructed. However tomorrow is 4th of July and we are going to be outside all day for a parade and such. I was planning on wearing a bikini top however I have heard that sunscreen is not good for a new tattoo and am unsure what I should do to protect it or if I realyl should just keep it covered.

I plan on getting my first tattoo soon, it will be simply three letters in old english font. Would this be considered an "easier" tattoo for the artist compared to others they may have done? Or is it all the same (wouldn’t think so). Pardon my ignorance.

Ok, so I am planning on getting this gorgeous tat which will extend from right below my knee to my ankle on my outer calf. It has many many different colors and is filled with butterflies and fairies. I know It will be expensive, but I was wondering if anyone could give me a broad idea of how much it will cost and how long a very colorful and large tattoo typically takes so I’m not completely shocked when I walk in to the tattoo shop.
Ok, and also I am not worried about how it will look to others, so that is not an issue. And this is not my first tat, I have two others, but they are not this big. This will be my first big one.

I put a lot of walls and most people think I’m cold-hearted at first, but once they gain my trust and get to know me (which takes a while) I’m one of the nicest and most caring people they have ever met. I really want to get a tattoo that represents this. But not a heart with barbwire or chains/lock or anything like that. I want something different. Any suggestions?

m getting a tattoo tomorrow and I’ve always wanted the kanji symbol of "courage."
I’ve bought numerous tattoo books, and looked up on the internet however I always end up with two different symbols.
Symbol 1: http://www.haolekid.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000002/Kanji%20Brave.gif
Symbol 2: http://www.haolekid.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000002/KanjiCourage.gif
I’m thinking they both mean "courage" but in different varies of kanji. Like one japanese on chinese or something.
But with it being permantly on my body, I just want to be 100% sure.
If anyone knows the difference, i’d greatly appreciate it.
10 POINTS BEST ANSWER!
Well, by all means that’s your opinion I respect that.
But i’ve wanted something that symbolizes courage, and I think a Lion is too manly for a girl, and I don’t want to just get "COURAGE" written boldly on me.
Any other ideas and I’m all ears!

I am trying to figure out what is the tattoo on the left arm of DE Juqua Parker of the Philadelphia Eageles. Does anyone know? Or even where I could possibly find out. I have already checked his bio page. Thank you!
