I have no experience in any medical fields but I am a fairly artistic and open minded person. I have several tattoos and piercings myself. I have a bunch of sketch books FILLED with drawings. How would I go about becoming an Apprentice to be a piercer/ tattoo artist?

so i’m getting a tattoo for my 18th birthday (in march) and i have a few ideas but i’m not sure what i should get first.
my first one i want to get is indian larry’s question mark with the wings http://www.indianlarry.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/Patch_HR.jpg
with a quote around the question mark that says "the next phase is going to transpire the way it is supposed to transpire"
or i want to get a Metallica themed tattoo, probably the ninja star design.
my friend lyndsey and i want to get 2008 (probably with a nautical star) on the backs of our necks because that’s when we’re going to graduate high school.
and i want to get an angel with with the word strength.
i just can’t decide which one i should get first or where to put it. , except i won’t get the 2008 one first because i’m going to wait until lynz turns 18.
i’m thinking about the question mark on my ankle or calf.
any suggestions?
i’ve been thinking about these tats for a long time.
or for the indian larry tattoo i might just have "indian larry" and 1949-2004
yeah, the 2008 idea was my friend’s idea. i was thinking about just like a nautical star with the school colors. just something to represent that hey, we made it.

I just got a tattoo yesterday on my forearm and I work as a bagger at a grocery store which means I have to get a lot of carts outside, and it’s hot and sunny as fuck so how can I keep my tattoo out of the sun? Wearing sleeves would be too hot (and would slow down the healing?) and a bandage will fall off when I sweat.

I want a tattoo, and my mom said it’s okay. It’s definitely not one I will regret. My friend just died and I want it in memory of him. What specific parlors in or around Iowa will let you get a tattoo at 16 with parental consent?

For my next tattoo I want to get a spider web on my shoulder, it is symbolic to me about when I get trapped in life, however I am a bit off put because I know that it traditionally has prison connotation attached to it, and shows you have served time. Should I still get a spider web, or just leave?
Ps I am also going to have coloured graphics between the webs

I have a tattoo that my cuzin started and well, we both haven’t had time to finish it. Plus, he lives 2 hours away. I wanna just go to a tattoo shop to finish it and maybe add some to it. Also, I want to get a verse from the bible on my fore-arm. I just wanna know how much would they charge?

I know it’ll vary depending on the tattoo. But I’m just asking for average times and own experiences? I got my first tattoo a few hours ago, its a (fairly) small piece of Arabic writing on my upper thigh.
I’m also going to be applying bepanthon to it 1-2 times a day for about a week, is this a good idea?

i want to get my first tattoo, but since I am a conservative stay at home mom I don’t want to go too crazy. I have seen white tattoos online and they look pretty cool – what do professional tattoo artists think of them?

this will be my first tattoo, i don’t want it to be the usual girly tattoo
i’m thinking about getting this on my right back shoulder area if that makes sense
i really like grateful dead and also, the guy i’ve been dating for a couple years now is a dead head, he’s not just my boyfriend though, he’s my best friend
what do you think of this tattoo? and with the whole don’t get your significant others name stuff, i’m the only one who would know that this tattoo kinda symbolizes him

Some of the scabbing on my tattoo is coming off and the parts of the actual tattoo I can actually see look shiny, almost like plastic film is over it. Is that normal?

I am not planning on getting this tattoo until August because where I live you can’t get a tattoo until you are 18.
I want to get a dreamcatcher tattoo because ever since I was little I had a fascination with them and I have a fascination with dreams. Also, my great-grandmother was Native American( I am mainly black).
Anyway, what is a good location for a dreamcatcher tattoo?

I am in the process of providing aftercare for my freshly inked first tattoo. I am so happy with it, and understand the guidance to not let the tattoo dry out. I am not overmoisturizing, either, but I am curious to learn what happens to a tattoo that receives more moisture than is ideal, i.e., if someon repeatedly oversaturated a tattoo with too much lotion? Is the guidance not to overdo it simply because more moisture is not necessary, or is it actually harmful to the tattoo?

I am planning on getting my first tattoo at the beginning of summer, but I am doing the research on tattoo places and artists now. I live near Stockton, CA. Any advice or tips would be great! Thanks!
I’d just like to add that I do not want anyone to tell me not to get a tattoo. If that’s the way that you feel, keep your opinions to yourself. I asked for advice and tips pertaining to my specific question, not to whether getting a tattoo is a good idea.
