Celebrity Tattoos: Katy Perry

 Katy Perry Tattoo

When one thinks of the, I kissed a girl singer the last thing that comes to their mind is tattoos. This is the best thing about tattoos. People who you would never think to have one has one. This also just goes to show that the stereotype on tattoos couldn’t be more wrong. It is usually those shy, good girls from next door that have a secret love for tattoos. With that being said, Katy Perry does have a tattoo of her own and it just so happens to be in a rather visible place.

Katy Perry Tattoo 2

Katy has a tattoo on her left wrist. Her tattoo is a text tattoo, that simply says Jesus in black ink. No word on why Katy decided to get this tattoo. But there you have it she does have one. There have also been some rumors that she has a lip tattoo on her back somewhere. However, Katy does not rule out the possibility of getting another tattoo. It seems that the hot and cold singer, has been hot and cold about getting a tattoo of Freddie Mercury on her back. Katy has once stated that she looks up the former front-man of Queen and completely idolizes him. She shared that she once almost got a huge tattoo of Freddie’s face on her back, but says she decided against at the last minute. She says she is glad she didn’t do it but on the flip side she still has an urge to get this tattoo on her back. So it is pretty safe to say that this pin up style singer will more than likely add to her tattoo collection one day.

Megan Fox’s New Tattoo

megan fox tattoo

If you are an avid fan of Megan Fox you are well awarethat she sports several tattoos on her gorgeous body. Megan claims to have a total of nine tattoos on her body. Some of those tattoos include a a pink flamingo on her upper thigh, a poem that Megan wrote herself on her rib cage that reads, “there once was a little girl who never knew love until a boy broke her HEART” as well as a Shakespeare quote on her back, “We will all laugh at gilded butterflies.” just to name a few. But if you look at the cover of the latest Empire magazine that Megan is on the cover of you will notice a new little tattoo on her shoulder.

If you look close enough you will see that this new little tattoo is in fact an Autobot symbol, most likely to symbolize her work in both Transformer movies. With Megan’s out there personality and wild ways one would just simply think she got this tattoo to give props to the movie that made her a household name. However, if you are a true Megan Fox fan you should know that this photo of Megan was taken a few years back and that new tattoo on her shoulder, isn’t really a tattoo at all. The Autobot symbol was photoshopped on Megan’s shoulder by Empire Magazine to help promote the new Transformers movie. So to make things clear, Megan did not get a new tattoo of the Autobot symbol. As far as anyone knows Megan hasn’t gotten a new tattoo in some time, unless it is somewhere that can’t be seen.

New Tattoo Ink Makes Removal Easier

There has been some controversy over this new tattoo ink that has come out. The new tattoo ink has been out since the fall of 2007 but some people are claiming that the ink doesn’t do what everyone claims it does. This new ink is permanent as well as removable. It is made by storing dye in microscopic capsules that will stay in the skin for good. But if you wake up one day and decide you no longer want your tattoo or regret it one day, it can simply be zapped away with a single laser treatment that is simpler and less painful than the barrage of treatments now needed.

tattoo removal

People are now coming forward who have gotten a tattoo with this new “removable” ink and are saying the removal process isn’t as easy as the makers of this new ink are saying. For instance they state you will only have to under go one laser tattoo removal session. Well real life people are auguring that it takes six sessions just like it would with the old traditional ink.

tattoo removal

The bottom line is people are missing the whole point about getting a tattoo. A tattoo is meant to be permanent and be with you the rest of your life. If you feel you won’t be able to live with a tattoo for the rest of your life, simply don’t get one. Don’t rely on a new ink method to save you. The cost of laser tattoo removal is far more expensive than getting a tattoo and it is pretty much guaranteed even with this new tattoo ink that you will have to under go multiple sessions to get rid of your tattoo. Not only does this new ink cost considerably more than your traditional tattoo ink, but if you decide you don’t want this tattoo anymore you will have to shell out even more money to get it removed. Simply put think before you ink. A tattoo is a life committment if you feel you can’t make it than you are not cut out to have a tattoo.

Tattoos were often considered to be the stuff of macho bikers that wanted to show that they can stand all that pain. Today tattoos have become part of mainstream culture and are being used by people who wish to show their appreciation for art and beauty. During the early days of this change the art of tattooing was more or less confined to men. It is only in recent that more and more women are going in for tattoos. This is because of a vast change in social perception where women tattoos are no longer frowned upon. There are several celebrities that have got tattoos and this has increased popular appeal for this form of art and also increased the social acceptance of tattoos on women. Because of this there are now new designs that specially appeal to feminine tastes.

feminine tattoo

Feminine tattoos are generally smaller and far prettier than those for men. Whereas male tattoos often include animals, logos, and other intimidating symbols tattoos for women feature flowers, butterflies, fairies, and similar concepts that represent delicacy and beauty. Tattoos for women feature thinner lines with more delicate coloring. They are not as aggressive in appearance as male tattoos. However, even this trend is undergoing a change because the increasing popularity of female tattoos has resulted in some women going in for heavy tattoos of the sort preferred by men.

Tattoo artists are now reporting that their largest clientele is made of women. They also state that women are better than men when it comes to the application of tattoos. For women, the design of tattoos is as important as the placement. Women spend far too much time comparing and selecting designs based on the body part where they intend to apply it. Though women are increasingly going in for heavier design elements their focus still remains on the sophisticated and the beautiful.

Two areas are generally preferred by women and these are the lower back and the tail bone areas. The lower back area is quite tantalizing and a sensitive spot for a woman to have a tattoo on. It is visible only in glimpses and like all things that are doled out in rare flashes this increases its appeal. Most of the designs for the lower back area tend to follow a V shape in order to accentuate the figure of the female form. Some of the most commonly used designs for this area include butterflies, angels, lions, hearts, insect wings, serpents, and several sorts of flowers. Nearly all designs are elaborated with wings or tendrils for a more balanced look. The lotus flower is supposed to represent the past, present, and the future. Flowers and animals are representative of femininity and fertility. Serpents and dragons are hints of trouble. The eagle represents courage and determination.

Another preferred area is the foot or ankle. These tattoos represent purity and simplicity. Professional and career minded women usually prefer foot or ankle tattoos because they are highly personal and not overbearing in any way.

Native American Tattoos

Have you seen a sexy tattoo on someone’s body and wondered what it was? You may have not heard of Native American Tattoos, but these are an integral part of how tattoos gained their popularity. Here is some information on Native American Tattoo…

Native American Tattoos

Nothing catches the eye and brings on awe better than a really good tattoo on a well-toned body. It instantly becomes a fashion statement with the deepest impact. Literally too. But those of us who think of tattoos, as merely a striking fashion statement would need an awakening to what tattoos are really all about. Tattoos aren’t just a fascinating form of art. They delve deeper into the traditions and culture of civilizations that came into existence centuries ago. Tattoos, beyond enhancing beauty, symbolized different aspects of the person it was created on. Tattoos were used for various purposes, as a mark of identification of a particular tribe, to signify the rank or grade of the individual in a tribe, to bestow praise for accomplishment or achievement, and in hope to attain special powers.

Among the oldest in the art, tattoos have been a significant part of the Native American culture for centuries now. There were a variety of reasons why the Native Americans would get tattooed. Many men from the winning tribes of a war would often receive a tattoo signifying their conquest and victory. Many Native American tribes were known by their tattoos. There were different markings that distinguished tribes and the regions they were from. Some Native Americans, especially those from the northwestern parts of America, used tattoos to distinguish and recognize a women’s village. Alaskan tribes used tattoos to mark the killing of an enemy. Many Native American tattoos held mystical or spiritual meaning. Native Americans believed that tattoos gave power to those who wore them on their bodies and/or faces. These tattoos were believed to endow a person with supernatural powers or strength. Native Americans took the tattoo of an animal, object, mythical beings and even gods whose strength and power they wanted to emulate. The Lakota Indians required that both men and women get tattoos to allow them to enter the afterlife, or they believed the spirits of their ancestors would not allow them to enter the afterlife.
native tattoo
Great skill was required in creating Native American tattoos. The Native Americans would use tools such as sharpened turtle or fish bones, or rock for needles to carve the tattoo into flesh. The tattoo would then be filled with soot or natural dyes as pigment to stain the wound. Since the tattoos were created stroke by stroke chiseled into bare skin, it was an extremely painful process. And the bigger and more intricate the tattoo, more was the perception of Native American’s pain enduring capacity, which ensured that he was looked upon with awe and admiration by his tribe. There are specific tribal members trained in the art of tattoo artistry. Experienced hands would create the tattoo with careful, smooth and slow motions, creating these designs little by little. As the technique evolved, this body art could be done on the whole body.
another native tattoo
Today, many people are opting to identify themselves with Native American tattoos of their tribes. This is true for both with Native American heritage, as well as those who just know of the Native American legacy and admire the culture. There need not be traces of Native American blood in you for you to justify getting a tribal tattoo done. Also, as tribal art forms have become more prevalent in today’s society, Native American tattoos are often a popular request for many tattoo artists. Native American gods, mythical figures, animals, instruments, musicians, and feathers are among the most popular Native American Tattoos being replicated today.
